Room 903, City Hall, Buffalo, NY
All seats (about 3 dozen) were filled. Lots of reporters were present.
Representatives from Campaign for Buffalo, Forever Elmwood, Landmark Society, and
the WNY chapter of AIA Urban Design Committee were present, as well as many private
citizens.
Pano presented hastily rendered Photoshops of an expanded restaurant, essentially
a doubling of the present patio. The board asked him to deliver a site plan,
elevation, and renderings of what he proposes to do with the site in the event that
demolition is permitted. He must present these materials at a public hearing,
which is scheduled for:
Thursday, October 21, at 5:30 PM, probably in Common Council Chambers.
At that time, the public will be allowed to make comments. They also encouraged
the public to send comments to the Board. Unfortunately, the Board does not have
a fax number or email address.
The Board is scheduled to tour the site at 8 AM on September 30. My sources suggest
that the interior shows all the signs of demolition-by-neglect.
